The resellers that ASUS referred me to don't seem to have the eee 901 in Linux flavour either. Maybe I should just become a reseller myself?

I may have to order from NZ. This all seems to have come about through ASUS' decision to release the 901 XP as a "Retail" product, and the 901 Linux as a "Channel" product. I'm not really sure what the difference is, except that apparently getting channel products is more of a pain.

I'm halfway serious about becoming a reseller. I reckon I could purchase a box of them and sell the rest off on eBay for a reasonable profit.

I'd love to come to Wellington, especially for the Wellington.pm hacking competiton. I even know the special password.

However a trip to Wellington before OSCON is unlikely, since OSCON is in 2.5 weeks.

Given that the RRP is $650 AUD, $700 NZD is quite a good deal!

Where was this NZD$400 Eee 701? They were $600 when first released, and are still $500 even now that they're out of date.
